Recent scientific review of mares spayed for behavioral reasons is encouraging. According to the study out of Tennessee in Veterinary Surgery, a highly respected scientific journal, 90% of the owners who had their mares spayed for behavioral reasons were satisfied with the outcome.
There were no serious permanent complications from the surgery which was laparoscopic and minimally invasive just as done at Reid & Associates.
