Byron V. Reid, VMD

Owner and founder of Reid and Associates since 1995, Dr. Reid graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Vet School. He completed an internship in Equine Medicine & Surgery at Iowa State University and a large animal surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. He was the equine surgeon at Palm Beach Equine Clinic from 1982 though 1995 and has over 20 years surgical experience. Dr. Reid is an avid biker and cycles to work daily, rain or shine! He also competes in the annual MS Society Bike Marathon where cyclists peddle from Miami to the Keys and back.

Cheryl Marlow, Practice Manager

Cheryl is the Practice Manager and has been working with Dr. Reid since 1982. She does all personnel scheduling including the doctors, organizes upcoming surgery, the practice bookkeeping, and hospital case billing and has been Dr. Reids anesthetist since 1983. She has taught online anesthesia classes for VSPN and is RACE approved. Cheryl also teaches technicians and interns anesthesia at our clinic.

Jan Zenobia, Office Manager

Jan is the go-to person when you need something done. She does all the drug and supply ordering, makes sure the front office is getting things done, pushes the vets out the door in the morning to try and get them to be on time to appointments, does our accounts payables and manages personnel on a daily basis. Jan has been with Reid and Associates Equine Clinic since 1997.

Susan Carastro, DVM

Diplomate American College Veterinary Ophthalmologists
We have been privileged and very fortunate to have a professional association with what we believe to be one of the greatest equine ophthalmic clinicians in the country. Dr. Carastro routinely saves equine eyes with severely infected and damaged corneas via grafts and corneal transplants. Among other complex and difficult procedures she has successfully removed numerous equine cataracts and inserted artificial lenses.

Meg Miller-Turpin, DVM

Diplomate American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine
Dr. Miller was previously an associate and has now specialized full time in internal medicine case management and consultation. We rely heavily on her expertise and consult her almost daily. She nearly always has at least one case in our hospital.

Lisa Fultz, DVM, MS, DACVIM

Dr. Lisa Fultz is a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada but primarily grew up in Tampa, Florida. She attended the University of Florida for both her Bachelors of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Fultz completed her internship at the Equine Medical Center of Ocala, followed by a residency in Large Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Georgia. In 2014, she became board certified in Large Animal Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. During her residency, Dr. Fultz completed a Masters of Science in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis on the pharmacokinetics of veterinary-exclusive antibiotics. Dr. Fultz spent one year as a clinical instructor in Internal Medicine at the University of Georgia while pursuing cross-training in lameness, surgery, and radiology. She has published and spoken at national meetings about non-surgical management of nephrosplenic entrapments, and systemic & aerosolized antimicrobial therapy. Dr. Fultz’s primary interests include respiratory disease, gastrointestinal disease, neonatology, and care of the older horse.

Our Gainesville, Florida Connection

David Freeman, MRCVS Diplomate ACVS is a friend of Dr. Reid’s from the days of Veterinary school at New Bolton Center. He is a world renowned expert in soft tissue surgery and surgical anatomy of the head and gastrointestinal tract. David accepts some of the most complex and difficult referrals and willingly consults on many of our most complicated cases.
