Owner and founder of Reid and Associates since 1995, Dr. Reid graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Vet School. He completed an internship in Equine Medicine & Surgery at Iowa State University and a large animal surgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center. He was the equine surgeon at Palm Beach Equine Clinic from 1982 though 1995 and has over 20 years surgical experience. Dr. Reid is an avid biker and cycles to work daily, rain or shine! He also competes in the annual MS Society Bike Marathon where cyclists peddle from Miami to the Keys and back.
Dr. Newkirk is a Florida native and graduated from the University of Florida 2007. Dr. Newkirk distinguished herself first as one of our finest interns and subsequently as a valued associate. She has developed proficiencies in both surgery and internal medicine as well as lameness and sports medicine. Her current efforts are directed toward enhancement and development of Reid & Associates reproduction service with an extensive laboratory to support equine breeding and reproductive medicine. Dr. Newkirk enjoys trail and endurance riding, but most of her free time these days is spent with her family, including her two young girls.
Dr. Giles is a Canadian from Nova Scotia and a 2014 graduate of the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island in Canada, Dr. Giles is focusing on equine breeding and reproductive medicine, aka “repro.”
Dr. Issey Chew-Chin graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2016. Following graduation from veterinary school she accepted an internship at Reid and Associates on the advice of chief of surgery at New Bolton Center Hospital. She developed and interest in internal medicine during her internship and was later offered, and accepted, an associate position at Reid and Associates. Dr. Chew-Chin lives in Loxahatchee, FL with her cat named Stella and enjoys hiking in her free time.
